No. The transcript is where SMART starts. It then picks out what was decided, promised and agreed — with deadlines, amounts and what changed since earlier conversations — writes a short summary of the conversation, and keeps the exact words and original audio behind each point, so you can check it yourself.

Yes. Each conversation gets a short summary written by AI. Every point opens at the exact words and the moment in the recording it comes from. Before a summary is shown, SMART checks each point against those words: a point it cannot trace, or one that sounds more certain than what was said — “approved” where someone said it still needs approval — is left out. A summary can still miss things; the full transcript is always there.

Yes, while you record. SMART tells you if the microphone hears nothing, voices are faint, the sound is distorting or it is very noisy — in time to move the phone or change rooms. It stays quiet when the recording is fine.

No. Your Android phone is the recorder. There is no extra hardware to buy, charge or carry.

For hours — a long meeting, an interview, a whole working session — with the screen locked and while you use your phone normally. SMART has been tested at more than 10 hours in a single recording. Your plan includes 1,200 minutes (20 hours) of transcription a month.

New recordings are still saved. They are transcribed automatically from the 1st of the next month, using that month’s minutes. There is no way to buy extra minutes.

Recording carries on. It is saved on the phone first and uploads by itself when you are back online. Searching your memory needs a connection.

An optional mode, off until you switch it on, for 1, 4 or 12 hours or until you turn it off. While it is on, a notification is shown the whole time and SMART starts a recording when it detects speech near the phone — a TV or radio counts as speech too. You stay in control of when it runs.

Recordings in Romanian, English and conversations that mix the two are transcribed. Promises, decisions and limits are recognised in English and Romanian.

Voices are told apart where the audio allows — most reliably in English, partly in Romanian. SMART does not identify people: you tap a voice to name it. Give two voices the same name and SMART joins them into one person in that recording.

Never on its own. SMART can prepare a follow-up and, before you approve it, compares each fact with what was said and marks anything that does not match. You always take the last step.

SMART provides source-backed records and original audio. It does not certify legal validity or admissibility. Recording other people is your responsibility under the law that applies to you — the terms explain what that means.

The SMART server, with your recordings, transcripts and memory, is hosted in Nuremberg, Germany (EU). The providers that transcribe recordings and write summaries may process data outside the EEA under EU safeguards; the privacy policy names them. Data travels encrypted, and you can export or delete your SMART data in the app at any time. After a deletion you get a signed receipt that shows what was removed, and you can choose automatic deletion after 30 days, 90 days or 1 year.

No trial. The SMART app is free; using SMART needs a subscription — €19 a month or €199 a year.

If you cancel, SMART stays fully active until the end of the period you paid for. After that, or if a payment fails, nothing is deleted and you are never locked out. You can still sign in, read your conversations and transcripts, play the original audio and check where everything came from, export and delete. New recordings are kept. They are transcribed, and new follow-ups can be drafted, once your subscription is active again. If a payment fails, we email you a secure Stripe link to pay, with another card if you like, and Stripe also tries again automatically. To renew, buy SMART again with the same email address: it is added to the same account, with the same memory.
